Holy Spirit Fire
"John answered them all, 'I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.'" Luke 3:16
Jesus is the One who baptizes us with the fire of the Holy Spirit! The Bible gives us a great picture of this in the Book of Acts when the first believers were gathered together; the Bible says, "Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them." What happened shortly after this also gives us a great picture of what Holy Spirit fire does to a person. All the believers who were in the upper room that day went out on the streets and began to witness about Jesus Christ to others. When the fire of the Holy Spirit touches us we burn with passion for the lost and can't help but tell the world around us about the saving grace of Jesus Christ! How long has it been since you felt the fire of the Holy Spirit? When's the last time you spoke to others about the saving grace of Jesus Christ? Have you been stagnate and cold when it comes to the work of our Lord? Perhaps it's time for a fresh anointing from the Holy Spirit! Perhaps it's time for the fire that you once had to be renewed! Ask The Lord to fill you anew with the fire of the Holy Spirit, so that you may burn as a blinding light with the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the darkness of this world!
